Long-Term Care Cost Planning · Asset Protection · Middle Tennessee

Don't let the cost of care rewrite your legacy.

You spent decades building something worth passing on. A few years of long-term care can quietly undo it — unless you plan while every option is still open.

The Gap Nobody Talks About

Too much to qualify for help.
Not enough to pay for care forever.

If you've built real wealth — a paid-for home, savings, retirement accounts — you're in the hardest spot there is. You've done everything right. And that's exactly why a long stretch of care can hit hardest: there's no safety net, and there's something real to lose.

Medicare doesn't pay for ongoing long-term care. Without a plan, the cost comes straight out of the savings, investments, and home equity you meant to leave to your children. Families in this position rarely lose an inheritance to a bad decision. They lose it to no decision at all.

You've built real wealth A home, savings, and retirement accounts — enough to be worth protecting, and enough to lose.
You don't need care today You're healthy, independent, and thinking ahead — which is precisely when planning works best.
You want it to go to family Not to a facility, and not to a system that only steps in once there's nothing left.
Why Timing Is Everything

Planning before care is needed
changes what's possible.

Once care becomes urgent, your options narrow fast. Plan early, and almost everything is still on the table.

1
Protect the home Your house is usually the largest asset at stake — and one of the most protectable, if it's addressed in time.
2
Position your savings Structure what you've set aside so the cost of care doesn't come straight out of your family's inheritance.
3
Respect the clock Many of the most effective strategies carry waiting periods measured in years. The time to start is while you're healthy.
4
Avoid the costly mistakes Gifting, adding the kids to the deed, last-minute fixes — well-meaning moves that can cost a family its options. We plan around them.

Before You Call

Questions families ask us first.

Isn't this only for people who are already in a nursing home?

No — that's when the fewest options remain. Pre-crisis planning is for people who are well today and want to stay in control of what happens later.

I already have a will or a trust. Doesn't that handle it?

Usually not. A standard will or revocable trust decides who inherits. It does little to keep those assets from being spent on care first. That takes a different kind of planning.

What if we never need long-term care?

Then you'll have a complete, well-built estate plan and the peace of mind that came with it. Nothing is wasted — the plan simply does its quieter job.

Is it too late if care is already on the horizon?

It's rarely too late to do something, but it's often too late to do everything. The sooner we talk, the more we can protect.
